3 Photography Websites Critiqued

Bottle Bell Photography http://www.bottlebellphotography.com/intro.aspx I find this website initially beautiful but what I find myself not liking the music embedded into the site nor do I like the slow photo loads. People are impatient. Photos need to appear quickly and delaying it in any way can cause a potential client to leave your site. I do like that she has a blog that is easily accessible, which brings some of her images out quickly, with just a scroll. Her colors for her website are classy, though, which is a plus for her site. Brent Stirton http://www.brentstirton.com/ I liked this website right away. The hero image is definitely captivating. I found myself wanting to see more. The controls are easy to see and unobtrusive. As I went through his easy-to-navigate website I found the hero image definitely a feature throughout, which is great. The color of the website is classy and frames his images well. David Fish Photography Studio http://www.davidfish.com/ This site is just NOT something I want to look at. The design is child-like and screams amateur. I did not even want to click “Enter.” But I did, to my regret. A lot of links with little photos, and the colors chosen for his site were clashy. I disliked this site from the beginning. I woudn’t stay around long enough to contact him for work. Weddings pay enough for you to get a decent website, and there are plenty of do-it-yourself (with an editor) hosting sites out there that you can avoid looking like this!
